Mrs. Collins' career in Virginia public education spans over 25 years. Her experience includes serving as middle school principal, high school assistant principal, central office testing coordinator as well as a lengthy teaching career at the high school, middle school and community college levels.
Mrs. Collins began her teaching career as a middle school math teacher in Culpeper County where she taught for several years before joining the team at King George Middle School. Mrs. Collins has also taught math at Louisa County High School, Germanna Community College and King George High School for many years. In 2004, Mrs. Collins left the classroom to serve as the KGCS testing coordinator. In 2010, she joined the administrative team at King George High School as an assistant principal. In 2014, Mrs. Collins became principal at King George Middle School.
Mrs. Collins is a product of Virginia public schools and universities. She graduated from Harrisonburg High School in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from James Madison University and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in mathematics education from the University of Virginia. In 2008, Mrs. Collins earned her Post-Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Collins holds a Postgraduate Professional License in Mathematics as well as in Admin and Supervision, PreK-12 and a Division Superintendent License.
